Matching Mother and Daughter Anklets: How to Choose Your Pair

October 09, 2026

Some of the sweetest things you share are small. A favorite color. A familiar laugh. A little detail that reminds you of each other.

Matching mother and daughter anklets are another way to carry that connection. Whether you choose the same design or let each person pick her favorite, the meaning is in choosing something together.

At Mommy & Liv, we make handmade freshwater pearl anklets in Mommy and Daughter sizes, with colorful accents that let each pair feel personal. Here’s how to choose yours.

Start with a color you both love

Think about the colors you reach for naturally. Do you both love blue? Does your daughter always choose pink? Are soft neutrals more your style?

A few places to start:

  • Blue: A bright touch of color alongside freshwater pearls.
  • Lavender Crystal: Lavender crystals paired with pearls for a little sparkle.
  • White Pearl: A simple choice that puts the pearls at the center.
  • Pastel: Soft, mixed colors when choosing just one feels impossible.
  • Pink Duo: Pearls with pink accents for a gentle touch of color.

You don’t need to choose the “perfect” color. Start with the one that makes you smile.

Matching doesn’t have to mean identical

Choosing the same design in Mommy and Daughter sizes creates an obvious connection: one for you, one for her.

But different colors can feel just as thoughtful. You might choose white pearls while she chooses pink, or pair your favorite blue with her favorite lavender.

The shared detail is what matters. Letting your daughter help choose can make the anklet feel more like hers, too.

Check the fit before you choose

Matching designs don’t mean matching sizes.

Mommy & Liv’s Mommy anklets are 10 inches long, and Daughter anklets are 6 inches long. These are the anklet lengths, not a guarantee of fit for every adult or child.

Before ordering:

  1. Wrap a flexible measuring tape around the ankle where the anklet will sit.
  2. Keep the tape comfortable rather than pulling it tight.
  3. Compare the measurement with the length listed on the product page, allowing room for comfortable movement.

If you don’t have a measuring tape, use a piece of string and measure it against a ruler.

A stretch fit should still feel comfortable, not tight. Choose by measurement rather than age alone. If you’re unsure, contact us before ordering.

Give a pair for a moment, or for no occasion at all

A matching pair can be a thoughtful birthday gift, a reminder of time spent together, or a small surprise just because.

You could choose the colors together, or give hers with a short note:

“One for you. One for me. A little something we share.”

There doesn’t have to be a big occasion behind it.

Find your little something in common

Start with a design you love, check both sizes, and choose the pair that feels like you.

Identical or a little different, it’s something you picked with each other in mind.
